Topic
The PhD student will study the molecular recognition processes, from the structural point of view, between plant metalloproteins and surface proteins of the malaria parasite at the Structural and Functional Proteomics group, Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (http://www.ibvf.cartuja.csic.es/Proteo/Proteo.htm), Seville.

Position
The position consists of two-year fellowship plus two-year contract, as part of a Research Project funded by the Andalusian Goverment (P08-CVI-3876). The research will be done in collaboration with other laboratories and, in particular, with the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR-MRC), in London (UK).

Quality Training

The PhD student will be enrolled for the “itinerant” PhD Program “Structure and Function of Proteins” (http://www.vtc.us.es/web/contenido.asp?id=3181), which has received a special mention of quality from th Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Qualification of the Applicants
Master of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Pharmacy
High knowledge of English and availability for travel.
